Day 1: Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park
We will pick you up from your hotel, we set off from Kampala in the early morning and drive through Mityana, Kyenjogyo, and the tea plantations 10 km off Fort Portal town to a Lodge in Kibale National Park. We will stop for lunch at Chimps Nest after lunch we head for an evening nature walk in the beautiful rainforest. The nature walk will give you a close encounter with the natural diversity of the park – the big trees, flowers, plants and vegetation, butterflies, several monkey species such as the red Colobus and L’Hoest monkeys and several birds. After the nature walk we will head back to Chimps Nest for an overnight rest before embarking on our Chimp tracking adventure the following day.
Day 2: Chimp Tracking, Kibale National Park to Kampala
We have an early morning breakfast and start our chimp tracking adventure early in the morning. The calls of the chimpanzees are common sounds in the forest and help guide us to the apes. These impressive chimps are the most closely related animal species to humans, and are very dramatic to watch play and wrangle in the trees. The large forest is a haven to more than 13 primate species including the red colobus monkey, the blue monkey, pottos, baboons, the L’Hoest, bush babies, black-faced vervet monkeys and the grey mangabey Once we have finished viewing the Chimps we will head back to Chimps Nest for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Kibale National Park to Kampala
We will have an early morning breakfast before returning to Kampala.
Included: All ground transportation and fuel, safari guide, park entrance fees, accommodation and meals, chimpanzee tracking, and other related activities.
